We are starting this week with what I consider a bang, an emo bang!!

17 years Thermo release their first album "Arde en mi" , the whole album is a gem that you need to need to listen in order. It's funny how music from your teenage years has the same effect today that it did more than a decade ago. Today's song is my favorite from the band,  ¿Dónde estás?. I've been lucky enough to see them play live, so life is good.


Funny story about the song, is that my first encounter with with was through its music video on Telehit (kind of the Mexican/LATAM MTV), and if you remember back in the day, music videos had the artist/song/album at the beginning & ending of the video, but i completely missed it so I did not know which band was playing :c, I kept searching for the song and watching Telehit in the event that the video was aired again, no luck ..... Fast forward a couple months after I first saw the video, a friend was playing some covers with his band and bang !! they started playing that song !!

Also if you are wondering why i did not link the album/song through spotify, well ..... it is not on any platform !!!

Empezamos esta semana con energía! Con una onda emo.

Hace 17 años, Thermo lanzó su primer album "Arde en mi", el album es una joyita que tienes que escuchar de principio a fin, y si tu como yo la escuchaste cuando andabas de puberto / adolescente emo, volver a escuchar el álbum tendra el mismo efecto que tuvo hace una década. La canción de hoy es mi favorita de la banda, ¿Dónde estás?. Tuve la suerte de verlos en vivo hace algunos años en Monterrey.

Dato curioso, es que la primera vez que escuché la canción fue por el vídeo musical que sacaron, lo vi por primera vez en Telehit (es así como el MTV de México/Latinoamérica), y seguro recuerdas que en aquellos tiempos, todos los videos ponían la información de la rola/artista/disco al inicio y final del video, pues no me di cuenta cuando lo pusieron y como no conocía la banda pues ya no pude buscarlos, seguí buscando y viendo Telehit esperando que pusieran el video de nuevo, pero no tuve suerte y me di por vencido. Meses después de ver el vídeo, cotorreando con un amigo, él y su banda estaba tocando covers, y tómala, empiezan a tocar esta rola de Thermo, y pues lo demás es historia. 

Por cierto si te preguntas por que no puse un link de spotify, pues .... el album no esta en ninguna plataforma!
