Be grateful for critics

Constructive criticism, or any criticism is a key factor in the development of oneself.

We humans are not good at receiving them. We always brag about being open-minded for suggestions and criticism of us, and yet. We build walls and walls of protection to safeguard us from the opinion of others. We respond angrily when any criticism of us is brought open, be that physical or psychological. We reserve a huge amount of energy towards hating anyone who's critic of us, our behaviour, and our Self. We are quick to label critics with bad words that they mean harm to us, that their opinion stems from avarice. And, maybe they are, so what?

Social animals always look for places where they belong, where they feel that they are being heard, acknowledged, and praised by the many to satisfy our Ego. Where we feel we are connected to people around us.

We have became accustomed to the fact that we are the perfect being, or even when not perfect, we think our attitudes, feelings, behaviours are normal and don't need adjustments of any sort. Then, it is of no wounder we respond with contempt towards our critics.

But maybe, we are not as good as we tend to think, the ego always likes to feel that it is perfect and it's in no need of adjustments. Critics offer point of views that are different from the ones we hold, challenging our idea of self belief and the fragile Ego. They are the key to our development in some ways. Of course, you don't want to hold everyone's opinion as important, if you do, you will be trying to adjust your behaviours in your afterlife as well, if that turns out to be true.

But, the people's opinion should take impact depending on how they are important to you. Of course they may be wrong, but there's a chance that they are correct and you are at fault, thus need adjustment of yourself. If we are negative towards critics, in time, we will cease to have any, because they become aware of our Ego and try to not intervene with it.

People's opinions should not matter, or perhaps, a selected group of people's criticism of us should matter if we are on the quest for the perfect self.
