The Beauty Of Difference

Indoctrination. In today's very distant world, everyone accuses everyone of being indoctrinated to an ideology that does not align with oneself's ideology. Everyone tries to be Patroclus and save Achilles from his doom. Everyone tries to be the prophet that saves everyone and the unsung hero of the lands between. There's this utopian vision that if we're all thinking the same, acting the same, saying the same things, everyone would be happy. That we should strive to convince everyone we see to come to believe our faith, religion, ideology, thoughts about politics, etc. Such is the way of human life, a war between factions, always has been, always will be.

Yet, there is beauty in difference. Entropy, as pointed out by Nassim Nicholas Talib, no two steps in nature are the same. And no two humans are the same, even in the molecular level. Life would be boring if we're all on the same side, there will be no advancements made in this utopian vision where we're all clones of a "perfect saint" that people advertise, the events of the last century should have proven these. In Star Wars, there's a parallel, Jango Fett was the blueprint for creating the clones(a clone trooper), the perfect soldier he was. These clones had no value to the empire(their creator), because they were made only for obedience, and their deaths would not be mourned because they can always create a clone, without thinking, without feeling, just to obey.

Humans, we, are different, and that's beautiful. There's beauty in this vast ocean of thoughts, ideologies, religions, scientists, atheists, agnostics, teachers, children, programs, and on and on it goes. We don't need to convert the other to what we believe in, we can coexist and learn to respect their thoughts, we don't need to automatically mark the other side as a "bad person"(whatever that means) due to some predefined biases and subjective ideas that we picked up from our culture, religion, thoughts, and reading.
