I've recently seen many a conversation across the web regarding Computer Science subjects. A pattern has emerged to my eye that seems interesting and quite appalling to my senses.
Both ends argue vehemently, disrespectfully even, discarding all the concepts of civilized conversation with another human being. All included parties, both that are and against the idea being discussed perform a very ugly dance. Often times, the need of the human psyche to be always right blinds us, to the point of tip-toeing not around the actual subject being discussed, but to oneself's Pride. If you think you don't have Pride in the senes of I am in the right, they are in the wrong, end of discussion, then you're blind as much as the person who's ignorant of their Pride hindering their character.
This goes beyond the discussions we're having on the internet, but because, i think the dimension of the physicality is ejected from these conversations. We're more inclined to act as a Kong fighting an imaginary Godzilla because they are high on Opium.
I venture to say that, perhaps it does not have to be that way. Or at least, i don't like myself acting toward anyone in real life, nor through the data scattered across the globe. It would do well for us in the cyberspace to be more open to thoughts across the spectrum of whatever being discussed. it's not the end of the world if i am using an approach that you think is wrong, if i am wrong, most likely i'll discover that one way or the other. People don't like someone who comes willingly to act as a saviour when they did not ask for one, ask Christ if you're not trusting me.
