Well, how did we all do? At Casa Calgaro, we had a pared-down festive lunch consisting of a lasagna (because I had ingredients on hand for it) and a pumpkin pie I pulled together from scratch the night before. We roasted the pumpkin and everything! I do not like pumpkin pie but apparently it turned out well. Secret ingredient: sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated milk + sugar!
Then we connected via Zoom, of course. The main event was an extended family present-unwrapping jubilee that went on for about an hour and a half. It was strange but also strangely normal? Anyway, I feel fortunate that we are all still here, happy, healthy, etc. I hope you can say the same.

Pandemic purchases
Apparently I am someone who is into feeding the birds now. I started with a window feeder so I could have more company during my workday, and expanded into a deck unit.
So far the squirrels are staying away! Just in case, I purchased this thing, too.
