Hey World,
For more than a year I've considered writing publicly and for more than a year I've let a variety of small obstacles in to keep me from doing so.
I started posting on Twitter more and since I have so few followers it feels almost non-public. Mostly just links to the books I've read and the occasional "here's something cool".
And then the guys from Basecamp/Hey.com created an easy way to send things out to the ether without any backend knowledge of how to create a blog. I know how to write emails and they created some type of blog setup that stands on their email platform. The obstacles to public writing have completely disappeared besides any nervousness about the public responding.
So here's my first personal public writing, as far as I can recall (I did a short stint of public writing to highlight the amazing work the team at Mars Hill was doing in the late 2000s with video and web and live production. Most of those guys stayed together and are doing remarkable things.) and hopefully it will open conversations with other folks, especially my kiddos.
