What a great season. Complicated storylines and interpersonal situations. Surprise life endings after the tension was cut by another character’s survival.
I particularly dug the spaceship fight graphics and movements/choreography (I had just caught a glimpse of a missile launch scene in a recent Mission Impossible and couldn’t make sense of the purpose of the camera action except to be different for different’s sake). I was disappointed that the walking spider-robot that steals the protomolecule looked like a droid from an early Star Wars movie. Though the graphics were lame the technique used to laser cut open the vault was clever.
The sexual ethics of today’s world are reflected in the story lines but not nearly as preachy as other shows. Even the racial tensions were handled with a clarity and strength without virtue signaling: Correcting Bull’s use of the Belter slur was dealt with directly, but graciously by both Monica and James. This approach draws a straight line to Avasarala’s after party speech uniting Earther, Belter, and Martian as the path to victory.
I hated finishing an episode because it meant I was approaching the finale sooner than I wanted. The arc was clear though and I appreciated the skill shown by the writers.
