A Morning at the Farmhouse

As the golden rays of the Monday sun gently kissed the farmhouse, I stepped outside into a world alive yet serenely still. It was early January, and winter was supposed to reign with its chilly grip. Yet, as I walked across the familiar terrain, it seemed like fall had mistaken our farmhouse for its canvas. Dried leaves danced elegantly with the grassroots, each gust of air orchestrating their noiseless ballet. It was a peculiar and unexpected charm, a reminder that nature can surprise us when we least expect it.

Yesterday's sun and wind had left their marks etched into the landscape. I wandered through this unexpected mosaic, feeling the gentle crunch of leaves beneath my feet. Each step connected me further with the quiet beauty around me, a world far removed from the urgency of the city—which, for today, I had chosen to leave behind.

Life at the farmhouse isn’t about schedules or deadlines. It's about embracing the moment, much like the birds that greeted the daylight with their cheerful songs. The light strain from too many hours in front of a screen lingered in my eyes, urging me to take a pause. Today, there would be no rush, no digital interference, just the calm balm of nature.

Yet, the allure of capturing this moment was undeniable. My phone did make an appearance, briefly, to immortalize the fleeting beauty of the scene—a small act to carry a piece of this tranquility into the bustling days that lay ahead.

As I returned from the walk, preparing myself for the day, a restful satisfaction settled within me. Knowing this was our last day at the farmhouse, there was a poignant awareness that these moments are to be savored. Soon, we would pack up and return to the city, to the life that sometimes seemed to forget these gentle mornings.

The week ahead promised joy of a different kind—a wedding, a celebration with friends. It would be a vibrant, lively affair, but part of me knew it would whisper of this day's peace amidst its clamor. There’s something about the farmhouse that leaves an imprint on your heart—a lesson in simplicity, in listening, and just being.

Change is necessary, balance is key, and as we shift from the quiet of the farmhouse to the rhythm of city life, this morning at the farmhouse becomes a memory, a place within, where time once stood still.
