Hey Actors!
Long time, no see! I've missed you these last few months. This fall, I was busy with Fairview and my second semester of grad school, but I've been enjoying some ease and rest as the days get longer.
I wanted to keep you updated on my latest endeavor, Balcony Theatre Collective. Balcony is a project I've been brewing for a couple of years but finally decided to let loose earlier this year. I see that the theatre community in Sacramento (and nationally, for that matter) is at a pivot point, culturally and economically. There are ways that we as a society have been producing theatre that are changing and must continue to change, especially if theatre is going to survive from an economic standpoint. Artists will always create, and Sacramento is brimming with talented artists. It's because of all of this that I have launched Balcony Theatre Collective, a space for Sacramento theatre artists to connect with each other, to rest without guilt, and to play without the pressure of production. And together, we will write the next act of Sacramento theatre.
All that said, I would love to invite you to be a part of Balcony. We are having our second Gathering on Sunday, December 29th at Orphan Breakfast House, from 5-8pm. I'm sure you have many questions, most of which will be answered here, on our RSVP page, as well as in our upcoming newsletter, which you should definitely sign up for! You know I love a newsletter.
