We are walking the Portuguese Way, the Central Route. Who knew there were so many Caminos?! We chose this Way mostly because we only had two weeks. The full Camino takes a month. We begin in Porto Portugal and walk, God willing, to Santiago Spain.

60 years old-why did I wait so long!
Decades ago the friends we’re traveling with shared a family tradition we quickly adopted: Highs and Lows. It’s a great way to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and share life with each other over dinner.
Today’s High: finally getting on the plane, knowing it had begun, we were on our way! Sitting in the emergency exit seat (extra leg room!) with my husband as we said evening prayer together, reading the names and intentions of all who have asked us to pray for them and theirs. The economy of God in of The Body of Christ-what a beautiful plan!
Low: As we sat in the car in the airport parking lot I realized that after years of dreaming and months of planning we would be sitting back in the car in the airport parking lot in the blink of an eye. My husband says life is like a roll of toilet paper—the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.
2 Cor 1:4 He comforts us in all our afflictions and thus enables us to comfort those who are in trouble, with the same consolation we have received from him.
