For the past few months, I've observed core leadership members from some organizations relying completely on LLMs to process thoughts, ideas & concerns. It's subtle, but you can spot fabricated words in almost every statement made.
I am not sure what the implications for these behaviors are, and surely studies or ongoing research projects are trying to explain what our future would look like where every single thought is rationalized only through machines. I believe there's a key difference in using a tool to aid monotonous labor and using it to aid in creativity and critical thinking.
I love solving problems, but more than that, I love the process of figuring out the ideal, most plausible solution to a problem. That's a pillar in my motivation, energy & focus. If I delegate too much, I can see myself struggling to find passion in what I do in technology and becoming stagnant in both knowledge and wisdom.
Will there ever be a reasonable balance? Will society force us to sacrifice creativity & exploration in the name of exaggerated efficiency & profits?
We must tread carefully in the future that awaits us. Understand what the trade-offs are and make conscious decisions slowly and deliberately.
