Wix makes things easy. That is the whole point of the platform. Adding Google reviews follows that pattern.
If you have a local business with a Wix website and a Google Business Profile with reviews, connecting the two takes maybe fifteen minutes. If you are looking to collect more reviews, check out ReviewCow.
Using Wix Apps
Wix has its own app market. Search for "Google reviews" and you will find options like Fera Reviews, Trustpilot, and Wix's own solutions.
To add one:
1. Open your Wix Editor
2. Click Add Apps in the left menu
3. Search for Google reviews
4. Pick an app and click Add to Site
5. Follow the setup prompts
Most apps will ask for your Google Place ID. Get this from the Google Place ID Finder by searching your business name.
Once connected, you can drag the reviews widget wherever you want on your page. Wix is visual, so placement is just drag and drop.
The Wix-Native Option
Wix has built-in review functionality through their "Reviews by Wix" feature, but this is for collecting reviews on Wix itself, not displaying Google reviews. Do not confuse the two.
For Google reviews specifically, you need a third-party app or an embed solution.
Embedding Manually
If you want more control (or want to avoid app fees), you can embed reviews using HTML:
1. Click Add in the Wix Editor
2. Choose Embed Code, then HTML iframe
3. Add your embed code
Getting that embed code is the tricky part. Services like EmbedSocial and Taggbox generate embed codes for Google reviews. Some have free tiers, others are paid.
This route gives you more customization but requires more setup.
The Bigger Picture
I keep coming back to this point because it is the one people miss: the display is not the hard part.
What is hard is having enough good reviews worth displaying. A beautiful widget showing a 3.2 star average is not helping your business. It might actually be hurting it.
Before you spend time on the technical setup, ask yourself: do we have a system for getting reviews? Do happy customers know how to leave a review? Is it easy for them?
If not, start there. Build the collection system first. For local businesses, tools exist to make this easier. Then worry about the display.
Placement Tips
For Wix sites specifically, put a review highlight near the top of your homepage. Not necessarily above the fold, but close. First impressions matter.
If you have a services page, add reviews relevant to those services. Context helps. Consider a dedicated testimonials page, but do not rely on it. Most visitors will not navigate there. Bring the best reviews to where the visitors already are.
Keep the design clean. Wix templates can get busy. A cluttered reviews section just adds to the noise. Pick a widget style that fits your overall aesthetic and does not fight for attention with everything else on the page.
