Abundance as a Corporate Strategy

Another read I enjoyed recently Satisfaction Guaranteed: How Zingerman's Built a Corner Deli into a Global Food Community was full of food-for-thought nuggets and a different approach to corporate strategy which has been successful for 40 years. Yes, it's not a typo, fourty years.

One of the best nuggets in the book which resonated the most with me:

Other co-founders might prefer to keep a tighter grip but Saginaw says he and Weinzweig shared an abundance mentality.

"Once you're in a position where you're not worried about keeping a roof over your head, I don't think an enormous amount of money brings you any more joy", he says.

If you let go of that it's liberating. It gives you a sense of freedom to be generous, to innovate, to share.

That's the fun of having a big giant resource that a business can be and how much good you can do with it.

A refreshing and a rich reading journey I believe many will enjoy.

An interview with the author was also delighting:

Will add a couple more examples on the topic later..
