What is the vision of my future?

I recently came across Joe Dispenza and really resonated with his thoughts on embracing and falling in love with the vision of your future as opposed to letting the past dictate how you live, feel and act.

As a Christian, it makes me think of this verse

Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)
"... but one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

Some key points I pulled from Joe were:

  • Embrace and fall in love with the vision of your future.
  • Overcome adversity and show up, even when it feels difficult.
  • Use personal conviction and higher motivations to stay committed to your vision.
  • Thinking on past emotions and trauma only hurts me and the people closest to me.
  • Strong, positive emotions linked to your future can override past traumas.
  • Live in the present, anchored by a vision of the future, and release addiction to negative stories or emotions.
  • Change within yourself to inspire change in your family and others.

Some key practices I've started integrating into my life:

  • Reflect on your future daily, practice feeling its emotions, and instruct your mind to stay focused on it.
  • Persist through discomfort and adversity, trusting the process of becoming your future self.

Questions for you to ponder:

  • What is the vision of my future?
  • What are my higher motivations?
