On Solving Problems

Most of life is problem solving.

Could be big, could be small. It doesn't really matter. Sometimes you think you know what the problem is only to discover part way through that it's actually something else entirely different that it the real problem, or its more nuanced or has more depth and complexity than you realised.  Maybe what you thought the problem was turns out to not be a problem at all.

Your definition of the problem was incorrect initially and must be updated with the new information as you go. You may need to redefine many times before actually solving the problem.

Actually working on the problem is necessary to even be able to properly define it. If you're not working on the problem the chances are very good that you do not understand it fully. Reading about it, theorising, offering opinions, this isn't working on it.  Until you start you won't know.

So, you must start.

And then figure it out from there.
