I get a lot of calls for services at my work. Today had a fairly classic one, kind of went like this:
"Hello, it's great to speak with you. I represent an IT services company..."
"I'm a one-man shop, contracting out a little for some of our services, but we're good, thanks."
"But we're not your average IT consultancy service. We contract out with local service providers to determine attractive price points tailored to the services you need."
"I've shopped local providers, and have some contacts here already if I need more services than I have."
"We'll do an audit of your current IT configuration and provide a heat map." (ooh "heat map" lol)
"I have a prioritized list of current projects already, thanks. Tell you what, I'll give you my email address, so you can email me stuff. That way you have something to show for your time, and I have your contact info if I'm interested later. I do appreciate your call, and wish you the best in your future endeavors."
"What? I .. What's that email address?"
I really do appreciate verifying that company's entry on my "Talked to them already, and still not interested" quick call response list. The email domain will go on my spam block list.
That's how I roll sometimes.
