3 Cool Companies - May [#5]

3 Cool Companies - May [#5]

  1. Recall - https://www.getrecall.ai/

Recall is an incredibly underrated app that I started using this month. They’re challenging the idea of information overload with a solution that captures, summarizes and organizes the content you view online. It’s a fantastic resource for connecting different topics you’re trying to learn. (A quick demo)

I haven’t done much research on the Recall team. They’re a small company, based in Amsterdam and it looks like they raised an undisclosed pre-seed round. They got to #2 on Product Hunt and have a 4.8 star rating.

Here’s a card it created when I entered a link to a Tim Ferris episode. I’ve also enjoyed using the ‘Knowledge Graph’ feature they offer. It creates backlinks that let you rabbit hole further into a topic. They're solving a really cool problem and I’d be pumped to see it grow.

  2. Scheduler - https://scheduler.ai/

Scheduler was started by Maddie and Mike Bell, a married couple in Cincinnati. Both worked at Fortune 100 companies prior to starting Scheduler. Their product is an AI assistant that takes the pain out of finding times to meet.

There’s a ton of big players / products in the AI calendar space. I think Scheduler will end up being successful in the sales niche to start. The system asks qualification questions, figures out if they prefer email or text and automatically follows up. It integrates with both Salesforce and Hubspot to account for these within a deal.

Maddie and Mike raised a $2.8 million dollar seed round for Scheduler in April led by Drive Capital, one of the top Midwest Venture firms. Their socials and blog posts include good resources around scheduling, productivity and calendar management.

  3. Runway - https://runway.com/

Runway, started by Siqi Chen, a President at Sandbox VR, is reinventing finance management for high growth companies of today. Their platform offers comprehensive modeling, planning and reporting to make CFO’s days a little easier.

Runway connects with accounting, HRIS, data warehousing tools and payment services to automatically keep your forecasts up to date with your actuals. Their modeling pulls from data fields in the system, so is purposefully easier than excel. You can even run what if scenarios like “What if our Q3 Plan was more aggressive?” or “What if we hire three more engineers?”

Runway announced a $27.5M round last year alongside a big partnership with Rippling. They also made my list, in large part, because they have an unreal landing page. Really slick design.
