I don't think we were created to be behind screens all day. In theory, digital technology is astounding and helpful beyond words. In practice, we scroll …we scroll again …and we context shift thousands of times in a day, leading to anxiety, overwhelm, and FOMO.

Should anyone have always-available instant access to me?

Is any of what the screens promise real? Or, is there a better way?

I don't want to process information all day long. I don't want to make a million decisions every day. I don't want to doom scroll anymore. I don't want to constantly be looking for what's next. I want control over my devices, instead of them having control over me.

What do I want?

Mental capacity to connection with God, family, and friends. To quiet the noises until I hear that still small voice of the Holy Spirit of God. To see what's right in front of me. A contentment, perhaps. I seek simplicity, because in simplicity I become present with what truly matters in life: relationships.

Life is about relationships. Ruthlessly eliminate that which gets in the way of you being able to love God and love people.
