What I Heard, Read and Saw [#1]

Hello there πŸ‘‹πŸΌ it's been some time right(?). But I'm back... and I'm back with something different this time. First things first though...the short absence. I gotta admit it wasn't intentional but it coincided really well with taking time off from work. It was an infrequent opportunity to reset and take a step back from excessively spending time in front of the screen and at the same time focus on other things such as reflecting on the last year at work, gathering some thoughts on some exciting projects and noting down personal development goals. More importantly however I spent some quality time with my people here in Cyprus!!! And it was a blast πŸ–

So for this post, I thought I would start something new that I'm hoping you'll find interesting. It's a new series called What I Heard, Read and Saw. I'll be posting these periodically whenever I manage to fill up these three slots β€” one for something interesting I recently listened to, one for something I read that I liked, and one for something I saw that caught my eye (and yes, this has been inspired by Jason Fried’s series on Heard something, Read something, Saw something which follows the same concept). Β Β Β Β

Heard

Emma Raducanu's interview at the BBC Breakfast show following her victory at the US Open 2021. What a fairy tale for her - a qualifier who's a teenager won a freaking Grand Slam!! πŸŽΎπŸ† Absolutely insane!! If you know me the slightest you'd know that I'm not the biggest follower of British athletes but this time I made an exception - massive massive congrats, what she's done is truly special!! Onwards and upwards Emma, I'll be watching you (NB. nothing against the individual British athletes I just believe that the British media put immense pressure on them by the extensive coverage no matter their performance).

ReadΒ

I could add the whole chapter on the importance of Scribing from my current book The Miracle Morning: The 6 Habits That Will Transform Your Life but instead I'll just share Rolf Smith's quote

" Ideas can come from anywhere and at any time. The problem with making mental notes is that the ink fades very rapidly. " πŸ“Β

The book recommends writing down your ideas every day in the form of journaling. This helps you keep track of your daily life and you will be accountable to yourself if you miss it anytime.

Saw

My favourite photo of the month and probably the whole summer. A photo from the caves at Manolis Bay in Latsi (Akamas peninsula). A thing of natural beauty here in Cyprus exemplifying how staggering raw nature is. What made it even more special was that I was there on a boat trip with my favourite people ✌🏼

** side note - I'm taking enquiries for anyone interested in organised boat trips along the Akamas Peninsula (including Blue Lagoon).Β

That’s it for now - I hope you enjoyed it. Until the next time 😊
