Portugal 10/10 - 10/11

The swell was smaller on Monday and today and not much seemed to be getting through at Arrifana due to how sheltered it is. I decided to give Amoreira a shot which picks up smaller swell a bit better. I did check it a few days ago and it was a giant mess. It doesn't handle anything big. There was a nice right peak breaking off a rock reef at the northern end. My backside surfing is pretty bad, so it has been good practice! The beach there is beautiful, and the crowds have lessened after the weekend. There were about 15 people out Monday and only about 4 others today which was nice. Today was bigger than yesterday and there were a few 6' sets.

The beach is really beautiful, and the water was a very cool azure color today. Here are some shots from Monday:
