Hey Hay Hej

Let's take things back to 2002.

I was a new arrival in a new city where I knew no one, and the way I got to meet people was through the internet—by reading blogs.

It was before Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram...and probably even Flickr, although not by much. I would collect ideas all week for my blog, starting as a list, and eventually crafting a post, and then I would publish. I had no idea who would see it—and considering today's obsession with likes, retweets and metrics that's kind of freeing.

Sometimes I'd have a fully formed thought that would get its own post—like "real" writing. Sometimes I'd share some idea I was working on—but back then it wasn't self-promotion because I had almost nothing to promote.

I'm ready to take things back to simpler times. Let's see if this sticks.
