The chapter on leadership in Business Made Simple covers: mission statement, key characteristics, critical actions, telling a great story and theme.
Some mission statements leave out their why.  Consider including your “theme” as part of your mission statement.
Define a theme for your company as it will help those internal and external know the impact you are making or will make. Your team will be able to use the theme as a filter to help them focus on significant priorities and will provide them justification to stop doing other things.
