The good thing that is happening for me during pandemic is that I get to try new things. We are constantly stressed by it and pushed us to go even further. We are in survival mode for a year and it looks like its not gonna go away anytime soon. In my case, I want to be better at programming, communicating and playing games that I missed. Turns out I can do all of them at once.
With more money at hand because of less traveling, here are things that I have tried in the past year.
Podcasting
Tried it. But I think it is not for me. I published 18 episodes to date: https://anchor.fm/di-atas-gudang. The reason is the creativity and production process took a lot of my time. I tried creating GarageBand template to reduce work but somehow I still need to tweak some things. Every episode is unique and I don't have the appetite to do it anymore, unless people asked me to do it.
Screencasting
Before my YouTube channel is about live streamings like today, I used to record some videos and made some kind of tutorial. Recording using OBS can help me avoid post-production process. Just hit the record button and changes scene like livestreaming does. This is fun 😎, but I think I could do more and make it livelier. So livestreaming is my next path.
Livestreaming
It was started from Streamyard. From there, I got the idea that livestreaming is easy and effective. I can interract with audience, perform many things, and all of it can be done by one person. The concept of one-man-studio really bought me, thus it drives me do news show and gameplay streaming every single day. I only need 2 minutes to set up and pray that the internet not went down 🙈.
I tried so many things! Streamlabs OBS (with its premium!), bought overlays, bought music, uses restream to broadcast on multiple platforms, until finally keeping it simple by using the plain OBS 😎.
