Whenever we started to own a space, whether it is online or offline, advertising is the first thing that comes to mind when we think of monetizing.

It is so easy to start yet so hard to earn. I remember I earned 3 cents for months from my old blogs.
Sometimes we can find ads in the least expected places. Like in the Settings page of an $1,500 TV or in the Info section of an $20 per month Cable TV. We pay for those things, yet they still served us with ads. As if extorting our leisure is not enough.
Some people even invested their time and money to block them from any ads. Even this post is written in a provider who despises spy trackers (to serve relevant ads).
What can I say? The lure is too strong.
Ads is a lucrative business model. But what is the true cost of serving ads in your space? Your visitor experience? Your customer time? Or their trust?
