We were just reminiscing about children’s TV on our way back down the motorway today. We started with Blue Peter. Is it still on? I remember when I was a nipper that they always seemed to be setting fire to scouts or burying themselves in elephant crap.
But then the real classics came to mind. The Gerry and Sylvia Anderson stuff. Top of the shop was Captain Scarlett.
I had everything. All the vehicles, including the one that went backwards (Eh?). It was great stuff. And the Mysterons. Two torches were needed. Two torches were obtained, cellotaped togetther. Endless fun was had.
“This is the voice of The Mysterons. We know you can hear us Earth Man”
And of course there was Captain Black. He was made redundant in 1975, but resurfaced several decades later on Match of the Day as Alan Hansen.
Anyone else watch Captain Scarlett? What about Thunderbirds, Joe90, Stingray and Fireball XL5?
