Dear lovers of music, mystery, and meaning,
📚 I’ve resumed the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers. It takes place in the “Galactic Commons,” a large interspecies cooperative spread throughout the universe. Toward the end of the more human-focused book 3, Record of a Spaceborn Few, a scene made me weep. So, of course, I immediately moved on to the final book, The Galaxy and the Ground Within.
đź“– Competing with this is my non-fiction book of the moment: Liturgies of the Wild: Myths that Make Us by Martin Shaw
🎹 On Tuesday I became deeply interested in early Spanish keyboard music again while playing a Tiento by Francisco Correa de Arauxo. Thanks to my friend Robert, who reoriented me to this music. It’s thrilling and daunting to know I've left an entire field of organ music unexplored!
đź“… Life has returned to full tilt, and my commitment to writing this newsletter has returned with it. I do hope to start writing to you weekly again!
Until next week,
-David
