As we approach Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I want to take a moment to reflect on his teachings and the hope he inspired in the face of tremendous adversity. Dr. King once said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." These words remind us that even when the world feels heavy with negativity, we have the power to choose light, love, and hope.
Dr. King believed deeply in the possibility of a better world, one built on justice, compassion, and unity. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the challenges we see around us, but his life teaches us that change starts with perseverance and faith in one another.
Let us honor his legacy by remembering that our individual and collective efforts, no matter how small, can make a difference. Let’s be the light that drives out darkness, and the love that counters hate, in our work and in our communities. Together, we can keep moving forward, because as Dr. King reminded us, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."
