I took the back of the week off to visit my in-laws and spend time with my wife off grid. It was a relaxing extended weekend (pic of dog enjoying the cabin).

How Effective is the First Shot of Pfizer or Moderna Vaccine? 💉 A recent study in Israel showed that a single dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is highly effective, up to 85%.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urges people to get both shots of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. However, you should be reassured that even after a single dose of either of those vaccines, you have very high levels of protection after your body has time to build immunity, about a week.
WeWork Lost Over $3B Last Year but Might Rebound As Companies Look to Be More Flexible with their Office Space as People Prefer Working from Home 🏠
Occupancy rates across WeWork's global portfolio fell to 47 percent at the end of 2020, down from 72 percent at the start of the year before the pandemic hit. The “Project Windmill” documents show that WeWork is aiming to go public at a valuation of $9bn including debt through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company.
According to the latest quarterly study of household wealth from the Federal Reserve, the wealthiest 1% of households saw their net worth rise by some $4 trillion in 2020, meaning that they captured about 35% of the extra wealth generated nationwide. The poorest half of the population, by contrast, got about 4% of overall gains.
Another study shared that more than 20% of the wealthiest Americans’ income isn’t being reported to the Internal Revenue Service.
Random audits of the rich can detect some tax evasion, but the study’s authora found that the IRS easily misses income hidden in sophisticated ways, including in private businesses and offshore structures. Collecting all unpaid income tax from the top 1% would boost revenue to the U.S. Treasury by $175 billion a year.
