A Week in Nelson / Whakatu

After 2 weeks in Golden Bay, we drove back over the Takaka Hill towards Nelson. πŸš™

We had heard about the Riuwaka Resurgence and stopped to take a look. This is where the Riuwaka River emerges from the Takaka Hill. πŸ—ΊοΈ

The pool at resurgence point and the river was stunning. πŸ“Έ

We moved on and stopped for a wander in Motueka. Saw this sign and thought - hey, that's a good idea (TAGI)! πŸ’―

Made ourselves laugh. 😎

Lunch at Toad Hall was a treat. 🐸

We made it to our place in Nelson and looked forward to hanging out here. πŸ€™

We enjoyed The Beths show very much. 🎢

Finally got to the salon...

... and the bookshop. Nelson 'worked' at the Page & Blackmore bookshop in Nelson. Not confusing at all. I was happy to pick this up after reading so many of George's market day observations on social media. Keen observer of tiny moments of joy. 😊

A few weeks later, I picked up a book and there was Nelson again! 🐾

We had heard about a 5k perimeter track at the airport so went to check it out. We didn't find it but did see some military pilots in training. As a follow up, we did find the track when we drove to the airport to leave so maybe next time. πŸŽ–οΈ

Steve caught up with Ted from Rainbow Flight Kites at the Nelson Market (we met him a few years ago). He was an avid kite maker and flyer (very familiar with Into the Wind in Boulder) and had been kind to us on our visits. πŸͺ

Saw an eel in the Maitai River.  πŸ‘€

Six weeks on the South Island without our car so we added a few things. 🧳
