This is a focus post about a pet / house sitting service called Trusted Housesitters that we're using, so if that doesn't sound interesting, I would skip it. 👋
We met JoAnn in New Plymouth NZ last year and she shared her experience using Trusted Housesitters (she had been to Australia four times using this service). She was on a 5 month sit with Ranger who was an indoor/outside cat. 😺
It sounded like a fun way to hang with a pet on our travels so we tried one in Auckland. 🇳🇿

King Louie (as I called him) was the one who started it all - such a lovable whippet! Never saw a dog sleep completely under the covers for hours. 😴

A chaos of fun - Tucker was still a puppy and the largest dog. He would not let anyone be petted without including him in the mix. Cows across the way were added fun! 🐮

Elderly cat in a mountain home who could open doors. He was a ghost who talked a lot. This was my only sighting. 👻

Blue was a big galoot who liked to hang out with his best friend, Kona. She was sleek and friendly. 🐈⬛

He could play ball all day long and she liked to watch from afar. 🎾
Lemon was a puppy who loved to play so lots of toys helped. Based on their squeaks, I think that Buttercup and HonIvy enjoyed their daily produce and pets. Finny the goldfish didn't say much but the eight chickens had lots to say! 🐶 🐟 🐹 🐹 🐓 🐓 🐓 🐓 🐓 🐓 🐓 🐓
The home was on an acre outside of Chapel Hill with lots of swallowtail pupae. I found this one as it was drying new wings. 🦋
We had some other visitors but only got one photo. 🦌
We had sits between 3-10 days and found that 3-5 worked best for us as we travel around. We are heading back to Nebraska for a few months so we don't expect to pet sit for a while. We will miss them! 👋
