London Part Five

Hey everybody ๐Ÿ‘‹

We got some much needed rain so the indoor plants got a nice shower. ๐Ÿšฟ

Got to see this up close during our second visit to Liberty's.

To celebrate Libertyโ€™s 150th anniversary in 2025, this history is coming to life. Over the course of three months, we invited our network of artisans, makers, designers and visionaries from across the globe to help us create a new, collaborative artwork: The Patchwork Collective, a supersize patchwork house on display in Libertyโ€™s Tudor Halls ... representing Libertyโ€™s patchwork living history.

Beautiful building in Mayfair. ๐Ÿ“ธ

Stopped at the Audley Public House to see the artwork on the ceiling by Phyllida Barlow. We first saw her work at the Nasher in Dallas. Loved it! ๐Ÿ‘

Stopped by Selfridge's and didn't make it pass the first 100 feet. Soooooo many people! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Opted to have a nice lunch at Mercato Mayfair (another repurposed church building) instead - excellent choice. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Made another visit to the Wallace Collection the next day. The Great Gallery was indeed great and took my breath away. Sir Richard designed it with loads of natural light. โ˜€๏ธ

We got a short history of this piece, The Laughing Cavalier, from one of the museum staff. I was very intrigued by it - seemed so modern despite the outfit. Read more about it (and a short video) here.

We don't have many drapes but if we did, I would want these tassels. ๐Ÿชข

Walked by the (under renovation) Marble Arch on our way to the Moco Museum. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

IMG_1346.JPG

The Moco Museum was a compact collection of 100+ pieces. Keith Haring in the house! ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ

Always nice to see a sparkly Kusama.  โœจ

Lots of works by the local hero, Banksy. ๐ŸŒบ

We really enjoyed the Robbie Williams exhibit. ๐Ÿ˜€

Another park (Holland), another gate. ๐Ÿ“ธ

We saw several of these posters around town so we added it to the list and checked it out. Reminded me of our friend Jennifer Hohlfelder's work. ๐Ÿฉฑ

Loved this video of a skirt which could also be used to shade your shoulders. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Some beach wear styles over the years. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Biked over to the nearby Leighton House. Very unassuming exterior. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The Arab Hall was a study in compact visual opulence. The lights were on so I could not get decent photos so had to pull these from the internet. ๐Ÿ“ธ

The winter studio looked like a good spot to work on a cold day. ๐ŸŽจ
