We flew from Nelson to Wellington and then had a bumpy ride into New Plymouth. Always happy to see the black sand beach and our favorite bike bridge. 🤩
Susan and Brent hosted us (and their friends Cathy and Fred) for a delicious dinner. Susan was holding Lola who was part crocodile. Snap! 🐊
Sweet Daisy was much more friendly. 🐾

This Taika Waititi movie was released in 2016 and there was a nationwide 10th anniversary screening. We went and enjoyed listening to a few people reciting the lines while they watched. 🍿
We drove up the coast to Urenui Beach. There was a large holiday park along the shore but it was pretty quiet in autumn. 🍂
We enjoyed catching up with Chanelle and Dave. They both worked for the local council so it was always interesting to hear their perspective on the local government. They had lots of interesting hobbies too - gardening, jewelry, pottery, home renovations, chickens, whew! 😅
