Hey everybody, I am sending this on 5/10 in the US so Happy Mother's Day to all those celebrate - hope you have a wonderful day! 🤗
Thank you for following our travels. We have been so damn lucky over the last three years and it has been wonderful to see many of you along the way. We miss Boulder and our friends & family very much but we are also grateful to experience new places and meet so many wonderful people.
We are planning for another year of travel and taking a longer journey to and from New Zealand starting in November. The map below shows the full route with destinations and timeframes listed below.
Los Angeles California to Santiago Chile 🇨🇱 (November)
Santiago to Rapa Nui (Easter Island) and back to Santiago 🇨🇱 (November)
Santiago to Auckland New Zealand 🇳🇿 (November)
Auckland to Seoul South Korea 🇰🇷 (March)
Seoul to Hong Kong 🇭🇰(April)
Hong Kong to London England 🏴 (May)
London to Oslo Norway 🇳🇴 (June)
Oslo to Reykjavik Iceland 🇮🇸 (July)
Reykjavik to Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 (July - August)
Toronto to Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦(August - October)
While we are unsure what travel will look like with global conflicts and oil supply disruptions, we are planning for what we know now and will adjust as needed.
The route shows flights only and travels west to help with jet lag across time zones. We expect to explore areas around these transit points. For example, with the recent government changes in Hungary, we plan a visit to there from the UK.
I am sharing this to gather input if you have visited or lived near any of these places. What do you recommend? Which popular places would you skip? As you can tell from the blog, we look for outdoors, bike and hike (not multi-day, sorry Steve), art, culture, gardens, and sculpture wherever we go but open to new things too. We enjoy visiting big cities but definitely stay longer in the quieter spaces.
We also want to add a volunteer component. We have found small ways to contribute to the places we visit but would like to be more intentional about that on this trip. If you have any thoughts on international opportunities, please share those too.
Thanks again for following along. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to do this now so we are going to make the most of it while we can. ✨
