Hey everybody 👋 we hope you are staying cool, avoiding fire smoke, and enjoying your summer, wherever you are.

We drove east from Pylle to Surrey (about 30 miles west of London) on July 11th. 🚙

You could see Stonehenge from the motorway but we didn't stop as we had a trip planned there a few weeks later. 🗓️

We stayed in Guildford for a night before meeting up with Rocket in nearby Brookwood. 🏨

We watched Rocket for 2.5 weeks. He was a handsome 11 year old Malamute/Husky mix with a very chill personality. 🤙

We also walked a dog named Sapphy with Rocket daily. 🐾

Rocket's home backed to the Basingstoke Canal which had a lovely path along the other side. 📸

Behind the canal was a large forest with lots of paths to explore. 👀

It was in the high 80s for the first week and ran across this when looking for a restaurant online. AC was rare so the red banner made sense. 🆒

We could not get Rocket interested in watching England play Argentina in the World Cup. ⚽️

Seen at the grocery - ew. 🤢

We visited the Painshill landscape park (Focus Post coming soon).

We enjoyed lunch al fresco at The White Hart (since 1650!). 😳

We drove over to nearby Knaphill to check out a fair at the small railroad park. 🚂

We were there mainly to see the community dog show. 🐕‍🦺

2nd place winner was a cutie too. 🥈

We followed up with a short drive over to Pirbright to check out the local horticultural society flower show (includes veggies). 💐

More walks in the forest next to the heath behind the canal. Rocket liked to roll in the tall grass. 🐾

We enjoyed a lazy Sunday reading the Telegraph Saturday and Sunday editions while Rocket brought out some toys. What a good boy! 🦴
