On Making Pitch Decks

Imagine the pitch deck you worked on when your startup was in its early inception. You maybe had a couple of ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿผโ€๐ŸŽจ mockups, a ๐Ÿ‘พ prototype, some ๐Ÿ“ ideas of product-market fit. Building blocks, I imagine, you used to create the story that helped you make your company.ย

My entire working career, I found myself, helping people create that story. Every founder, entrepreneur or major leader figure I worked with end up discovering I could articulate their idea back at them and turn it into a visually compelling story. Next thing you know, that's all I did. I made stories and decks for fundraising, product, sales, and brand.ย

I used to think my skillset was too broad. I design, I ideate features, code and turn things into working prototypes... Over the years, all these skills came together through the making of stories and pitch decks.ย  Everything flows from story: design, product, code, sales. ย

In 10 years of working in technology and entertainment, I've come to understand what I am: I'm a communicator!
