Hey!

While I doubt that an interest in writing can be encoded in the genes, for some other reason I have been captivated — I don't think that's too strong — by writing and publishing most of my life:

  • Helping my mother with the hand typed newsletter for her Soroptimist club.
  • Preparing the newscast from the AP news wire when I worked the morning shift at KSRN.
  • Serving as editor of the high school newspaper, Hoofprints.
  • Publishing the short, final edition of the Denver Engineer magazine of the College of Engineering at the University of Denver.
  • Now an editor editing and writing at Microwave Journal.

When blogging was invented, I was enamored and have started more blogs that I don't maintain than I care to recall: here and here, for example. I love reading blogs, channeling the life experiences and deliberations of many thoughtful writers. They inspire me to write similarly, although I don't take the time to formulate my thoughts and put them into the blogosphere.

Now, the email service Hey releases a blogging platform, an easy way to post thoughts by simply writing and sending an email, which ends up in the blogosphere. I can't resist. Maybe this can be a tool for capturing observations and reflections longer than a Tweet yet shorter than a thesis.

Hey.
