In an incident that could have ended in tragedy, a Portrush family is reaching out through social media to thank an unidentified driver for his compassionate actions after their beloved dog, Lucky, was struck by a car on Causeway Street.
Lucky escaped from the Harper's yard and was unfortunately hit by a car.
Though it was a distressing accident, the family stresses that no blame is to be placed on anyone, noting that such occurrences can happen to the best of us.
Emlyn Harper took to social media to express his heartfelt gratitude towards the driver, who stayed with Lucky until the family arrived. In the rush to get Lucky to the vet, the Harpers did not manage to get the driver's details, but they are eager to let him know that Lucky is back home and receiving plenty of love and care.
“We were in such a tizz to get her up to the vet that we forgot to ask if he was ok, his name etc…,” Harper wrote.
They hope that their message reaches the considerate individual to offer him peace of mind and thank him for his remarkable kindness during a stressful moment.
The family’s post has already garnered significant attention within the 'My Causeway Coast & Glens' facebook group, illustrating the power of social media in connecting people and sharing goodwill.
The Harpers hope this outreach will bring comfort to the driver and assure him that Lucky is recovering well.
