At last night's meeting of the Leisure and Development Committee of the Causeway Coast & Glens Council, a verbal update was presented on the progress and future prospects of the Enterprise Zone in Coleraine.
Councillor Richard Holmes sought the update under any other relevant business.
Pat Mulvenna, Director of Leisure and Development, delivered the update, noting a substantial increase in inquiries over the past year. She emphasised the Enterprise Zone's role in the ambitious growth deal project, which includes establishing a £16.5 million business innovation and incubation hub.
This hub is set to address the rising demand for wet lab facilities and food incubation spaces, providing tailored business mentoring and technical support through strategic partnerships to foster business growth and job creation.

The director also mentioned that the council is actively and eagerly awaiting guidance from the Treasury and the Northern Ireland Executive regarding the Enhanced Enterprise Zone proposals.
