easyJet Expected To Announce New Routes to City of Derry: Edinburgh and Liverpool

It is understood that EasyJet is set to soon announce the introduction of two new routes from City of Derry Airport, connecting the city with Edinburgh and Liverpool. The flights are expected to commence on 4 November 2024, marking a significant expansion in the airport's connectivity.

Prior to 2020, Ryanair operated flights to both Edinburgh and Liverpool, with Loganair taking over the routes until 2023.

The anticipated Edinburgh route will feature twice-weekly flights, with departures from Edinburgh at 9:00 AM on Mondays and 3:25 PM on Fridays, arriving in Derry at 9:50 AM and 4:15 PM respectively. Return flights from Derry are set to leave at 10:20 AM on Mondays and 4:45 PM on Fridays, landing in Edinburgh at 11:10 AM and 5:35 PM.

Similarly, it is understood that the Liverpool service will operate twice a week, with flights departing Liverpool at 9:35 AM on Mondays and 1:55 PM on Fridays, arriving in Derry at 10:40 AM and 3:00 PM. Return flights from Derry are slated for 11:10 AM on Mondays and 3:30 PM on Fridays, with arrivals in Liverpool at 12:15 PM and 4:35 PM.

These new routes are anticipated to bolster regional connections, offering greater travel flexibility for both business and leisure passengers. 

Over the years, numerous individuals from the Causeway Coast have journeyed to Liverpool and Edinburgh, as well as the reverse, for both business and leisure purposes. The introduction of these routes is anticipated to strengthen economic and cultural connections between the cities, boost tourism, and create new opportunities for traveller's.
