I learnt one of the biggest problems with deploying capital into third world countries is the issue with intermediaries. NGO's, governments, charities all have a high cost of operating. It turns out most of the money does not get to the people who need it and the people we want to help.
A study by FactCheck calculates that the truly charitable spend for Charities is more like 60-70%. I suspect the issue is even worse with third world African governments.
It got me thinking, what if we had a smart contract that distributed donations directly into the hands of the unbanked and people who are living in poverty. We could distribute this wealth daily, weekly or monthly. This sounds a lot like Universal Basic income, but funds distributed through Crypto.
The haves can send however much they wanted to a wallet that distributes to Billions of wallets.
I am sure there are technical challenges like verifying identity, choosing the right crypto platform and many more....Surely, someone is working on something similar. Reply and let me know if you know anyone working on this.
