Google's Data Collection is getting out of control

Google has finally released its iOS privacy label for Google Maps and to say that it is daunting would be a major understatement. You can read more about it in Forbes

If you're using Google's other major products like Gmail and Chrome you might also find the data collection within those apps extremely alarming.

Here's a collection of what data Chrome links to you.

And in Gmail...

For Google, your data is the actual product and these apps just serve the purpose of collecting that data. And while they've made areas of everyday life more convenient with these apps make no mistake if these apps were to no longer be able to harvest this data they would likely be discontinued.

It's not always clear how Google uses this data. For some of this data they are on the record of saying they don't currently use it. However, it is not clear if they've ever used it in the past. This was made perfectly clear in an article from 2019

You shouldn't have to worry or second guess what a company is doing with your data or what story they might tell on your behalf to others.
