One of the original purposes of glennjamin.dev (my blog made in Ruby on Rails) was to have a playground. That part was a success. But for me, having that playground was more important than actually doing the writing and gave me new reasons to procrastinate.

I got super excited by the idea of Hey World but then struggled to figure out where it fit in with my previous plans. My initial thought was that my original blog could be dev focused while this could be my longer form writing instead of mini-tweet storms. However, given that actually doing the writing was the problem it felt like doubling up on the amount of blogs was a recipe to not actually do either well. 

So, I’ve decided to separate concerns and jump on the Hey World train. All the decisions about layout, rss, and interactions have been made for me(other than what to actually write). This enables me to use glennjamin.dev as an actual playground. 

One of my goals is to help pass on things I’m learning so that someone who comes after will have an easier time (especially in web dev). With that said, I do like to watch movies and read books and will have posts with recommendations. Lastly, I'm an amateur photographer (amateur in every sense of the word) but I plan to post the quality photos as I get better and talk about settings and framing.
