Chale, some of my friends have been asking me, "Derrick, what’s with this new obsession with Instax cameras?" Haha😂, maybe it’s because small money has entered the account. But the truth is, I love taking photos 🤳🏾. Not just selfies or anything, but photos of things I like a lot❤️. If we’re in the talking stage, you’ll get to see photos of my daily activities and the random things that catch my eye lol. And I do all that with my phone. 

Some people think capturing photos of the moment means you’re not living in the moment. False! If you’ve spent any time with me or gone out with me a few times, you’ll see that I enjoy every bit of the moment and love to capture it too. At concerts, I sing and dance a lot, but I also like to capture the band and the artists performing. Sometimes, I even rewatch these moments. Lucky times, some of these artists even DM me to share the photos and videos when I post them on Instagram. When I’m enjoying a good meal but I like the way the meal was presented, I capture it. Seen some artwork, an artefact, or a beautiful landscape I love? I capture it. 


Now, I’ve got some Polaroid cameras for instant printing of the moments I capture, and I love it. 

I started with the Instax 7+ Mini. I loved the aesthetics, but sadly, I lost it while riding an ATV or quad bike. Felt sad, but now I’ve got the Instax Mini Evo. It’s a hybrid camera, which means I can do an instant print and also keep digital copies. I can even print images from my phone. Loving it so far, and hey, it helps me save on film costs💰 too. It gives a nostalgic vibe of an old film camera 📷 . 

If you’ve read up to this point, I’m here to tell you to get one. It’s worth it! Live life, enjoy the moments, capture them, and print what you want. Don’t let people bully you into thinking that capturing the moment means you can’t enjoy it as well.
