Web Control browser extension must be enabled by the user

Filled under insanity, absurdity, and enterprise software at its horrible best. I present this McAfee tech note on how to enable Endpoint Security Web Control in the various browsers touched by users.

No matter it ignores Safari, which doesn’t allow programatic enabling of extensions — but it does show the main reason why so many enterprises mandate a browser user policy. Such a mix of strategies and caveats.

That does remind me… I have an Apple Feedback ticket open on the ability for MDM’s to manage Safari extensions. (FB9017508)
