Working Definitions for an Ecological Systems Theory Study of Afognak Elk Hunting Fun Times

Before a proper study of Afognak Elk Hunting Fun Times can begin it is necessary to have clearly defined terms.

Fun Types

Type 1 Fun
Normal fun.  We are all having fun right now.
Ex. "Look at us having fun.  These blueberries are great.  We could sit here and eat blueberries all afternoon if we weren't elk hunting."

Type 2 Fun
Not fun now, but this will be an entertaining memory to think back on.
Ex. "I'm pretty sure these salmonberry bushes are ten feet tall.  Why did we decide to come down the mountain in this particular valley?  Also, I'm pretty sure I forgot my binoculars on the top of that last mountain."

Type 3 Fun
Not fun for one of us, but hilarious and/or fun for others in the group.
Ex. "ElkHunter1 has accidentally squirted himself in the face with bear spray while pushing through salmon berry bushes and that is very hilarious for all elk hunters except for ElkHunter1 who is not having any fun."

Type 4 Fun
It's not fun for any of us right now, but the unpleasantness will enhance a future experience.
Ex. "I've been freezing cold for three days.  This little heat vent in the floatplane is incredible.  The engineering that when into this heat vent is fascinating.  What amazing forethought some anonymous engineer had to put that vent here for me."

Type 5 Fun
This is no fun for any of us, but someone later will get a kick out of it.
Ex. "It's been raining buckets these last three days, we are covered in mud from head to toe, and freezing cold.  Why are our wives laughing at us, and why won't they help carry our gear?"
