Scratchpad Scribbles: Indulge

What do you do after a 3-day fast? Eat a jar of peanut butter for breakfast. And then eat 6 eggs with specialty cheese. Then get a chicken caesar salad with flatbread. Drink some energy drinks and non-alcoholic beer (I had to draw the line somewhere). Then eat some pasta. Then more peanut butter. Top it all off with some ice cream and cookie dough.

In no way is this list a good idea or healthy. But it was fun. And much needed after days of fighting off cravings and hunger pangs.

I’ll probably never eat that much again. But as a one-off that is okay. In a world where we push ourselves and celebrate hustle, it’s good to remember that it’s okay to indulge once in a while. If you do it every day the indulgence loses its fun and becomes torture. But done right, it’s the recharge you need.
