Scratchpad Scribbles: Reset

Life has a great built-in feature. Every night you go to sleep and let everything reset. Each day is new. Each day is a chance to start things fresh. To make a change. To become something different.

But these resets can also be a bug. If you reset too often things will never change. You’ll always be at square one. You can’t build habits by starting anew each day. You can create something new when you wipe the slate clean each night.

The trick to life is figuring out when to hit that reset button. And when to let things ride. It is tempting to always reset. To say "I’ll do better tomorrow". But if you want something bad enough you’ll resist hitting that button. And over time you’ll learn when you truly need to hit it. And not just hit it when it is the easier choice.
