Turns out all my unhappiness in the recent weeks was just because I wasn’t shipping. I’ve been working on this project for almost two months, and things have kept changing over time. The complexity is overwhelming to me, and I need to manage everything—so many decisions to make.

Today, I announced that I will ship this project next week, and I felt relieved. I’m starting to feel happy about programming again. I don’t know if I can do a better job next time, but I don’t really want to experience this kind of situation again.

Let’s keep projects shorter than two weeks. Investigations? Of course, but they need to be completed in two weeks. Implementations? Indeed, they also need to fit within two weeks.

Two weeks might seem short, but for me, as someone who needs to be both a PM and a programmer, it’s not short at all.
