What Happens in A Six-Week Cycle?

Six-Week Cycles: This is a six-week time period during which the entire organization and individual departments are assigned objectives to accomplish.

This is a time of limited scope and extreme clarity.
  • Limited scope: We refrain from adding any large projects during the six-week cycle. We determined what we would accomplish during the cooldown period.
  • Extreme clarity: We have a clear understanding of our goals and objectives for the six-week cycle. Every department and individual knows what they're working towards, removing any ambiguity and allowing us to focus on achieving these goals.

THERE ARE 4 ELEMENTS THAT MAKE UP A CYCLE

  1. Company Kickoff
  2. Quest
  3. Departmental Kickoff
  4. Projects

COMPANY KICKOFF
: A document outlines the quest(s) that the company will pursue during the cycle. It summarizes the scope of work, acting as a roadmap for our strategic direction over the next month and a half. The Kickoff keeps the team aligned and focused, ensuring everyone understands our goals and the planned path to achieve them.

QUEST:
These are our major company-wide projects we aim to complete each cycle. They symbolize a journey towards improvement and advancement. Quest initiatives require genuine innovation.

DEPARTMENTAL KICKOFFS:
These are the documents that individual departments prepare for each cycle. They list the goals, projects, tasks that the department aims to accomplish over the next six weeks.

PROJECTS:
If the company has quests, departments have projects. Projects are the departmental priorities for this cycle.
