blogging expectations in 2026

I have been blogging for twenty years.

Last year I wrote more than one post per week. I was very happy about that.

You can see my posts here - https://mulvany.net/all-my-posts.html

AI is accelerating at a rapid pace and I am paddling furiously to keep on top of things. I am going to scale back my writing in 2026 so that I can focus on a few things. I'm not going to stop though.

I am gong to be focussing on:

- Keeping fit. 2025 was a not a great year for fitness.
- Keeping up with AI - specifically figuring out how to bring AI into peer review. I will be writing about our experiments on this within BMJ.
- Digitalising my dad's photo archive - https://www.brendan-mulvany-photography.com/. I will be writing about AI is making this project possible.

There are a few posts that I am working on that I will post give some time to namely - how AI is affecting the software development lifecycle, where I think problems are in scholarly communication, and a few other topics that I've been mulling over.

Apart from that I am going to take it a bit easier on the blogging front in 2026.
